First, my brother Steve started talking about this group called Tumbledown House and in his usual way he gave me a CD. Next he decides the group should be flown in from San Fransisco to celebrate our Father's 50th Anniversary with Winsted - a company our Dad started with a high school buddy that has become a worldwide leader in Control Room Console Solutions. Steve asked, want to go to San Fran to photograph the band live?
Um, yes! Dad, Steve and I took a long weekend and it was one of the best family experiences yet.
July 28th, 2017, Steve and I picked-up band members Gillian Howe, Tyler Ryan Miller, Ryan Lukas, Aaron Kierbel and Zachary Johnson at the Minneapolis airport and embarked on four fast-paced days of getting amps and instruments, hanging out with these new friends, taking pictures, a bit of rowdiness at a local jazz fest and celebrating Jerry Hoska on a riverboat in Stillwater, MN.
Love you Dad!

"2018 is the year that we explode onto the national scene like a crate of fireworks in the back of a pickup truck driven by a haphazard cigar smoker."
Well, dear readers, it's been a minute, hasn't it? Please don't mistake our online absence for inactivity! Let me assure you, we've been everything but quiet.
2017 was quite the breakthrough year for us. Through new relationships with booking agencies and contacts met, we've finally broken into the next level of venues (not literally). Last year, we began performing in more Main Street Theaters, Performing Arts Centers, and free, large, outdoor performances. We've expanded our ensemble and are currently performing with a much more lush instrumentation, including clarinet, bass clarinet, trumpet, trombone, piano, guitar, bass, drums, and of course the kazoo. We've written some new songs, traveled to far away places, and hell, one of us even got married.
2018 is the year that we explode onto the national scene like a crate of fireworks in the back of a pickup truck driven by a haphazard cigar smoker. It's the year we paint our names across the walls like a toddler with a new set of Crayolas. It's the year that we look back on when we are older and ask ourselves, "What the hell were we thinking?!" And we couldn't be more excited.
At home in the San Francisco Bay Area, we have 2 monthly residencies: We play Local Edition on the 3rd Thursday of every month (8:30pm - 12am) and Club Deluxe on the 4th Friday of every month (9:30pm - 12:30/1am).
If you are looking for a reason to visit San Fransisco, Arizona, Nevada or Montana (who needs a reason), there isn't a better one than taking in one of their performances. Learn more, listen, get tickets, and book a flight. See for yourself the enormous talent and charm known as Tumbledown House.
